Food Program

Friends of the Shelter partners with the Lighthouse Mission of Bell County KY to provide supplemental dog and cat food to low income pet owners. Friends purchases the food from Food City in Middlesboro each month. It is taken by volunteers to the Lighthouse Mission monthly food giveaway where it is distributed to pet owners who need a little help in feeding their pets. In 2019 FOS provided 1200 bags of pet food to pets in need. FOS appreciated Food City for providing a discount on the dog food and the Lighthouse Mission for partnering with us.
