Just So You Know!

  Websites that make a difference

Surfing the web is becoming an increasingly popular leisure pastime, and there are some aimed at animal lovers like us. We’re going to try to spotlight one of these each issue as we can. If you know of a website you think our members might enjoy, please drop me a line at Martha_wiley@bellsouth.net.

The Animal Rescue Site (www.theanimalrescuesite.com) is one of a network of charitable websites that really make a difference. As their website says, “The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Each click on the purple "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to our charitable partners.”

The site also features a shop filled with pet-related items: clothing, knick-knacks, and home décor, as well as links to other animal care sites and suggestions on how to help the cause. In addition, they sponsor occasional photo contests and other interesting ways to raise awareness and funds for the plight of animals. Make them your homepage and that way you won’t forget to “click” once a day!
